Khajuraho Group of Monuments – 1 km
Khajuraho Group of Monuments, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is one of the most iconic heritage destinations in India, renowned for its exquisite temples adorned with intricate sculptures that reflect a blend of spirituality, art, and sensuality. Located just 1 kilometer from the main town of Khajuraho in Madhya Pradesh, these temples were built between the 9th and 12th centuries by the Chandela dynasty. The complex originally housed over 85 temples, of which about 25 have survived the test of time. Divided into Western, Eastern, and Southern groups, the monuments display exceptional craftsmanship in both Hindu and Jain traditions, depicting mythological stories, daily life, and human emotions with remarkable detail.
